Give Me 5 media speed briefing event - what can you achieve in 5 minutes?
In today’s fast paced business world it is harder than ever to attract the attention of the media. Journalists are busier now than they ever have been and are now responsible for publishing a host of different elements from e-newsletters to special reports to blogs and of course magazines. This means that their time is pressurised and therefore spending time out of the office attending press conferences, briefings and meetings has to be justified completely. Speculative fact finding missions are not in vogue!
This is where Give Me 5 comes in. It’s a simple way for companies to tell their news to 10-12 of the top UK industrial/engineering press in the space of a few hours. The event is designed for B2B journalists and brands, it is run in a speed-networking format, which allows a company spokesperson to brief journalists in quick succession. The spokesperson only has five minutes to deliver their story to the journalist. Journalists and spokespeople sit at tables arranged in a circular fashion with the spokespeople sitting on the outside of the circle. The journalists rotate around the inside of the circle every five minutes upon the sound of the bell. There is a one minute break between briefing sessions to get settled and this is followed by a networking lunch.
So if you have a new product or a great story but are unsure whether to put your neck on the line and arrange a press conference to help promote it, then this event might just be exactly what you have been looking for. For a third of the cost of holding your own event, the venue and catering are arranged for you and more importantly we handle the journalist invitations so all you have to do is show up on the day and pitch your story.
